Sugared Pecans

1 Egg white
1 T water
1 lb. pecan halves
1 C sugar
1 Tsp salt
1 Tsp ground cinnamon

In a bowl, beat the egg white and water until fluffy. Add the pecan halves to the bowl and stir until all nuts are coated. Set nuts aside.

In another bowl, combine the sugar, salt and cinnamon until well mixed. Pour the cinnamon-sugar mixture over the moist nuts.

Generously butter a baking sheet or jelly roll pan and place nuts on pan. If the nuts are large or fresh, bake at 300 degrees for 1 hour. If the nuts are medium-sized or were being stored in the freezer, bake for 45 minutes. Stir nuts every 15 minutes during baking time, then remove from oven and allow to cool.

Sugared pecans are wonderful to serve at Thanksgiving to your thankful guests! This simple, delicious recipe can easily be doubled. They're perfect for holiday gifts, party favors or a special "thank you" gift for co-workers, teachers or relatives. Put them in pretty containers such as glass jars with colored ribbons or tins with the nuts wrapped in foil to keep them fresh. You can make little cards yourself with stamps (or stickers, if kids are helping) that read, "Handmade by______". What a lovely touch to the holidays!
