Dr. Jean Garton

Dr. Jean Garton speaks nationally and internationally on issues related to education, family, life concerns and the Christian Life. She is the founder of Lutherans For Life and has served as its national president for 17 years. For five years her commentaries, "Speaking of Life," were heard daily on radio stations throughout the U.S. She has been a frequent guest of Focus on the Family with Dr. James Dobson and she has chaired the Declaration Committee for the World Congress of Families when it was held in Prague, Geneva and Mexico City. She is also the author of Who Broke the Baby? What the Abortion Slogans Really Mean.

Garton served for 12 years as a member of the Board of Directors of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod and, most recently, as a member of the Synod's Commission on Theology and Church Relations. She has also served on the Concordia University System - Council of Members, the Synod's Board for World Relief and Human Care, Concordia Plan Services and other Synodical entities.
