Dr. Samuel Epstein

Samuel Epstein, M.D. is professor emeritus of environmental and occupational medicine at the University of Illinois School of Public Health, and chairman of the Cancer Prevention Coalition. He is an internationally recognized authority on avoidable causes of cancer, particularly unknowing exposures to industrial carcinogens in air, water, the workplace and consumer products, such as food, cosmetics and toiletries, and household products including pesticides, besides carcinogenic prescription drugs.

Epstein has published some 270 peer-reviewed articles, and authored or co-authored 20 books. His books include the prize-winning The Politics of Cancer Revisited, The Safe Shoppers Bible A Consumers Guide to Nontoxic Household Products Cosmetics and Food 1995 publication., The Breast Cancer Prevention Program, Unreasonable risk: How to avoid cancer from cosmetics and personal care products : the Neways story and What's In Your Milk?: An Exposť of Industry and Government Cover-Up on the Dangers of the Genetically Engineered (rBGH) Milk You're Drinking

A recipient of numerous honors from toxicological achievement and environmental justice to cancer prevention and humanitarianism, Epstein has also been featured in the media regularly. Among his appearances are National Public Radio, 60 Minutes, Face the Nation, Meet the Press, PBS, Good Morning America, and the Today Show airing on Canadian, European, Australian and Japanese television.
