Jetty Rae and Jason Stewart

Featured on Woman to Woman on February 12, 2011.

Jetty Rae is a singer-songwriter, who has been singing, touring and recording for the past five years. She's played music ranging from rap and hip-hop to folk, which is the style of her two albums: Blackberries and Nobody EP. She has played at various festivals and venues, such as the Michigan-based Traverse City Film Festival, Blissfest, The Dennos Center, The Grand Traverse Opera House and The Music Hall of Williamsburg in Brooklyn, N.Y. Her influences include Brandi Carlile, Cat Power, Ray LaMontagne, Lauryn Hill, Patty Griffin and others. Her aim is to evoke a change that is more powerful than herself. "It doesn't matter if I am playing for ten people, or a thousand people-it's that one person who is touched, that one person who doesn't feel alone anymore. That's the power of music, and that's why I do this" she said.
