Archibald Hart, PhD

Archibald Hart grew up in South Africa. He was chairman of the first African Enterprise's evangelistic mission to Pietermaritzburg in 1962. As a clinical psychologist, he is board certified in psychopharmacology. After moving to the United States, he later became dean of the Graduate School of Psychology at Fuller Theological Seminary. The author of 28 books and co-founder of the Hart Institute -- a psychological counseling, training, and coaching consultancy in Sierra Madre, California, he now specializes in psychotherapy from a Christian orientation and in the treatment of depression, anxiety, and stress disorders. His major research interests are the emotional hazards of the ministry, panic disorder, stress management for leaders, and psycho-physiological measures of emotion and spirituality. Hart is the president of the International Network of Christian Counselors. He and his wife Kathleen have three grown daughters and seven grandchildren; they live in Arcadia, California.
