Barbara Elliott is the president and founder of the Center for Cultural Renewal, a resource center for faith-based organizations working to renew individuals and communities in America. She has written four books, including Street Saints: Renewing America's Cities, a book on people of faith serving the poor across the nation. She has taught with the Catherine of Siena Institute for the past seven years, helping people discover the spiritual gifts God has given them.

Elliott is also the founder of The WorkFaith Connection, a Houston non-profit that transitions people out of poverty, homelessness, addiction or prison into a new job and a new life. In four and a half years, they have graduated more than 1,200 people. She has also planted partnerships for Kids Hope USA, which now serves more than 10,000 young at-risk children throughout the US.

President George W. Bush awarded Elliott the Eleanor Roosevelt Award for Human Rights in 2001, recognizing her work with refugees and the poor.

As an analyst on faith-based and community initiatives, she has served as a Senior Fellow with the Hudson Institute and Associate Fellow for the Sagamore Institute. She is a Fellow of the Dominican School of Philosophy and Theology, and received an honorary doctorate from that institution. She is also adjunct professor in Houston Baptist University's Honors College. She earned a master's degree in theology from the University of St. Thomas.

Elliott is a frequent speaker, and has taken the message of faith across the country speaking in more than 60 cities, on 250 radio stations and television programs, including PBS, NPR and EWTN.
